How to Make Kale Taste Less Like Shrubbery | 3 ingredients, 25 minutes

 

Kale is one of those foods that I have a hard time eating simply because it tastes horrible.  In fact, it reminds me of the shrubbery in my front yard.  However, kale is one of the most powerful Superfoods on earth, which means that I must eat it.

Kale is truly the queen of greens.  A mere cup of this shrubbery contains a whopping:

    • 180% of your daily requirements for Vitamin A
    •  200% of Vitamin C
    • 1020% of Vitamin K
    • Bonus minerals copper, potassium, iron, manganese, and phosphorus (if you’re anemic, pay attention to this one)

All of this means that you must eat kale, too.  We’re in this together.  Here’s are two ways to make kale not only edible, but tasty.  You might even like it.

In fact, I think you WILL like it.  My husband eats one of these two nearly every night and always asks for more.

TASTY KALE (not an oxymoron)

A.  3 ingredients, 15 minutes

  • Kale  ( I use the precut, prewashed bags I find at the grocery store but you can by organic kale and wash/clip it)
  •  Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
  • Seasoning salt

Cover a pan with parchment paper.  Throw the kale on the pan.  Give it an EVOO shower with a spritzer bottle.  Sprinkle with seasoning salt (this can be cajun seasoning, garlic salt, or any other seasoning preference you prefer).

Pop this baby in the oven for 20-25 minutes.  The kale leaves will be a little crispy on the edges, and this makes an awesome side with dinner.  Your welcome.

B.  Tasty Kale II

5 ingredients, 15 minutes

  • Kale  (again, the bags of precut kale are great)
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2-4 TBS minced garlic (depending upon how much you like garlic)
  • 2 TBS lemon juice
  • Salt or your favorite type of seasoning salt to tasteGet a big bowl and mix all of the ingredients except for the kale.  Stir, stir, stir.Throw the kale into the mixture.  Toss to make sure the kale is evenly coated.Throw the bowl into the fridge for at least 10-15 minutes.  Let the kale soak in this stuff.

    You’ll end up with a cold kale salad that’s quite tasty.  Enjoy!
