I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth, Internet friends. I’ve been mom-napped. Summertime is here, and I swear my daughter knows exactly when I need a minute because she always gets into something or makes a mess. Or dresses the dog up like a princess.
And what does this have to do with health? Alot, actually. Joy and laughing trigger the release of a cascade of health promoting chemicals. Laughing could even be thought of as an internal jog because it releases feel good neurotransmitters like norepinephrine. Joy, fun, and play boost serotonin levels and can improve your mood. Improved mood equals better overall health. Kids are great at playing, but we seem to teach them out of it at some point.
That’s all for today, folks. I’ve been reading an excellent book called Switch-have you read it? It’s a fabulous book on “change.” Ciao!
